Introduction to Canoeing & Navigation
Master the fundamentals of canoeing as you traverse the captivating Howe Sound. Experience is not required. In case of strong winds, skill-building will take place in the Squamish Canal.
The two-hour session encompasses all essential techniques for proficient canoe paddling.

The River Run
Embark on a morning journey through the serene class 2 rapids of the Squamish River, beginning at sunrise. Lasting between 3 and 4 hours, the expedition kicks off about 45 minutes north of Squamish, winds around the Spit, and concludes in the heart of the town. Marvel at the stunning landscapes, from mountain ranges and waterfalls to an array of wildlife. Depending on when you join us, you may even witness the world’s largest gathering of bald eagles feasting on the river’s plentiful fish. The outing includes roughly 2.5 hours of river paddling, along with all essential equipment, a guide, and a shuttle service. Please note that the route and duration are subject to weather conditions, wildlife sightings are not assured, and we require a minimum of three participants to conduct the tour. Some basic paddling skills are essential.

Start your adventure at Squamish Watersports, conveniently located just off the Sea to Sky Highway, serving as your entry point to the stunning Howe Sound. Our journey kicks off from our private marina situated in a sheltered channel, flanked by the iconic skyline of The Chief and Squamish Nation land. As you explore, expect to encounter local wildlife like seals and otters lounging on floating logs.

Tailored to your skill level and environmental conditions, this longer tour offers the chance to head south for an exhilarating open-water experience. Choose between destinations like the awe-inspiring Shannon Falls or the dynamic currents at the base of the Squamish River.
